We all need better software

There’s nothing worse than feeling like the software you’re using is junk.

What’s sad is that even software used at scale is lacking today.

In Postman, for example, the UX just feels like a digital jungle. While on the website, I felt like I was just mashing different buttons on the UI to get my tasks done. I wonder how much time I lost just navigating that mess.

The best software is methodically designed and crafted. It doesn’t all have to be written by hand, of course, but it does have to do one thing smoothly, though: serve you, the user.

After all, you’re a professional, you have a limited amount of time, and you have things to get done.

Software should be making your life easier, not frustratingly harder.

Somewhere in the pursuit of AI, the industry stopped caring about producing great software. Which also means that it stopped caring about you.

Doesn’t make sense to me.
